Guscott (Kenneth) is born in Roxbury.

The son of Jamaican immigrants, Ken Guscott enlists in the U.S. Army Air Force at 17, serves in World War II, and graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and the Bettis Reactor Engineering School, with a degree in nuclear engineering. Returning to Boston, he serves as Boston Branch NAACP president (1963-1968), then, with his brothers Cecil and George, founds the Longbay Management Company in 1969, and becomes a real estate developer. Guscott dies in a fire in his home in Milton on March 6, 2017.
